Saturday night from 7-10pm is Meet the Artist Night at Artomatic. I’m working on bacon truffles for the soiree. Caramels and mints for the timid (or morally opposed). 1st local asparagus of the season June 1, 2009
Here’s a simple spring soup recipe I made up (if I can take credit for something so elemental?) (for 1 serving)
-5 stalks of fresh asparagus
-1 cup water
-curly japanese noodles (like ramen)
-soy sauce
-salt
1. boil a cup of water
2. add a little salt
3. cut the asparagus into 1” lengths
4. add noodles and asparagus to boiling water
5. boil gently for about 3 mins loosely covered. The asparagus doesn’t have to be submerged – it will steam.Add salt and soy sauce to taste. Repeat if necessary.
