Points to L’Auberge de la Fontaine (hotel) in Montreal. They left us great chocolates   from Chocolatantara, a shop right here in the  neighborhood. Um, yum

Stripy Swirl: crème filling, not like your grocery store junk chocolate. I admit, that in my enthusiasm, I did not savor this as it deserved (thanks for the recent tasting exercise Kim Rush Lynch!)

2 crunch looking things on top: perhaps chestnut and a port wine filling? Tres complex, great progression.

Food Review: Crepes at the Market, Riverdale Park Farmers Market May 30, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — tauchocolate @ 2:04 am

I didn’t know it was possible to get intoxicated from a crepe. But it is.

I found “Crepes at the Market” selling their wares at Riverdale Park on Thursday afternoon (www.rpfarmersmarket.org).  An amazing menu with both sweet (dessert-y) and savory (meal-type) selections. With much difficulty, I selected the #3, comprised of egg, tomato, basil, and gruyere cheese.  If I did anything different, I would sit down and give the work of art my full attention.  Even walking and shopping and heading back to the car, it created a “things are well with the world” moment.

“Crepes at the Market” I thank you. I will be back: there’s quite a bit of menu I need to work through.

*Disclaimer: I am an in-advance faithful supporter of the upcoming Greenbelt Farmer’s Market. Until it opens on June 8, it’s nice that Jim Coleman and friends have done such a great job building the Riverdale Park Market. And I will be coming back for more crepes.

I’m sure that the giver (D’s former contract) meant it with the best of intentions a few Chirstmases ago. And maybe there’s something to storing Cabernet Sauvignon that I don’t know besides dark and (realtively) cool, but this one turned to pure vinegar. Should have saved it for vinegar use!
